Dear Parents -

Thank you for exploring the Children’s Programs here at the Tabernacle - we would like to share some information about the procedures for the children’s programs, check-in/out and safety. If you have any questions, please contact the Team Leader for that age group or speak with our Children’s Ministry Leader, Faith Hency or email childrensministry@buckleychurch.com.

Illness Policy:
In order to provide a safe, healthy environment for everyone, we ask that you do not admit children to the program if they are exhibiting any of the following symptoms~

  • Fever within the previous 24 hours
  • Vomiting and/or diarrhea within the previous 24 hours
  • Runny nose with colored discharge
  • Sore throat
  • Any unexplained rash
  • Any skin infection
  • Pink eye and other eye infections
  • Head lice (children need to be nit free)

Discipline Policy:
We encourage positive reinforcement. We want all children to have fun and be involved in a safe environment. Our volunteers will do their best to make your child feel welcome and comfortable in their surroundings.

The volunteers will redirect children when possible with love and encouragement. If volunteers are having a serious behavior problem with your child, they will contact you during the service and ask that you remove your child for the day. At that time, we will work with you regarding the best way to handle problems that may arise in the future.

Safety Policy:
The safety of your child is very important to us. All of our children’s ministry workers wear an identification badge, have passed a background check and there are procedures in place to protect your child if a person who has been convicted of a crime against children attends this church.

Procedures are also in place in case of other emergencies, such as fire or a tornado. First aid kits are located near all program rooms. It is very important that as a parent, you feel comfortable discussing any concerns with us. If you have any questions regarding any of the above mentioned safety issues or procedures, please speak with the team leader.

Children with Special Needs:
If your child has any special needs, especially food allergies, please make a note of the condition on their registration form. We will provide your child with a special warning tag for food allergies, to alert volunteers of their condition. Other non-emergency special needs should be discussed with the program team leader.

Parent Alert System for Sunday Mornings:
If your child needs you, you will be signaled by your child’s tag number up on the bottom right of the screen in the sanctuary/firehouse. The letter corresponds to the child’s location-
N = Nursery
T = Toddler
P = Preschool
K = Kid’s 1st-6th
The number following is each individual child’s number. [example: N7, a baby in the nursery with tag number 7 needs their parent.]

Volunteer

If your child is participating in one of the Children’s Ministry programs, we encourage you to join us as a volunteer! Help is needed in all areas - check-in/check-out, crafts, story time, snacks, music, games, teaching, substitute/fill-in positions, special events and more. For more information, please speak with any children’s leader or the Children’s Ministry Leader.
